The Coolest New Internet Browser-What is Google Chrome and Why Is It Worth Checking Out?
Are you ready to explore the Internet on a safer, faster browser? That’s exactly what you’ll find when you download Google Chrome – Google’s free source answer to better Internet browsing.
I’m having a great time learning the cool new features that set this browser apart from the others. Here’s one of my personal favorites-the ability to easily add shortcuts to your desktop from online applications, allowing me to access them while still offline.
Another useful feature is the way Google Chrome sets up tabs across the browser page. This in itself is helpful, but the real fun starts when you drag and drop web pages onto combined tabs, and even move tabs into new windows. This Dynamic Tab feature opens up plenty of possibilities for creative web browsing.
For those of you in work settings where there are privacy concerns, there’s also a “stealth mode” for browsing that doesn’t leave tracks. Consider using this feature if multiple staff members share computers.
One of the best reasons to start using Google Chrome as your browser is the collection of security features. A window appears warning you of unsafe websites, or if a certificate doesn’t exist for the site. There’s an automatic import function for your bookmarks, but it does take a little time to reset passwords, etc., as it does whenever we change applications. Overall, though, the improved functionality outweighs any hassle.
I’m definitely impressed-this new browser is much faster than IE or Firefox on my computers. It gives me quicker access to sites I use often, and it keeps me away from the bad guys. Being able to click a shortcut on my desktop to access online applications makes me much more efficient and focused throughout the day.
When we work online, time is our most important commodity. Productivity is key – especially for small business owners! Google Chrome offers us the chance to save time and work smarter. What more could we want in an Internet browser?
no offense Heather but Chrome still lagging behind the the fox big time. see how innovation happens there. e.g. check out the new tab king extension (http://www.newtabking.com) to see how a browser new tab should look like and then compare to Chrome…
